Bedroom Slide wall thickness - 36FDDS

Can anyone tell me the thickness of the side walls in our 2001 36FDDS??

I'd like to add a couple of hooks with screws and certainly don't want to drill through. It's pretty tough stuff so I'll probably need to predrill a little to get started and just don't want to drill all he way through.

Thanks in advance

…..hey Paul, I feel your concern....I wasn't sure either when I needed to add some shelf supports to modify the TV opening. Short of making yourself some not so fancy calipers, I assumed the worst and went as shallow as I could....

Slide walls are same 2"

Retract a slide
Measure from inside wall surface to edge of trim
Measure from outside wall surface to edge of trim
Measure width of trim.....subtract the above measurements....2"

Assuming you are going to locate the new fasteners on existing beams.

Length is really NOT an issue. You want them long enough to go through the inside/first wall of the box beam. You gain nothing by having them more than a few threads longer than that.

And, if not in a beam area, you will likely want more than just a screw, as you will want to spread the load in the interior wall.

Those 3M sticky hooks are good for that type of thing.

I agree but in our case the closet walls have the carpet stuff on them already so nothing to stick to unfortunately.
