Black Tank Smell?? Check Tires!

I've got a 98 Alpine and have had my share of black tank problems, even after rebuilding both ends.

Surprise, surprise when I recently bought new Goodyear G670RV tires-the old Toyo tires were the lingering black tank smell that I could not find. I kept a couple of the Toyo's as spares. Everytime I walk by the tires I am reminded how the tires smell.

Supernose(better known as my darling wife)told me that the smell she thought was coming from our previous black tank problems was now gone. I had both Toyo 121's and 147's and both smelled.

Some tires have a smell. Our Bridgestones have a smell too after running and getting hot, but not quite a black tank smell.

You should smell the tire containers from Korea, Japan, and Indonesia when we open them. Kind of a cross between a dairy farm(feed lot) and a sugar beet plant....P-U

When I walk into the warehouse, I can always tell by the smell that we have unloaded a new shipment of imported tires. I've never asked the question, but I would guess it is the fumagation process.
