On my 2004 40FDTS, with my TOAD attached and the coach brakes depressed, the brake lights flash on and off at about one second intervals. The coach brake lights operate normally without the TOAD connected. My local RV dealer seems to think it may be caused by a thermal relay in the braking system, possibly in the the Vansco module. Has anyone had a similar problem? I am looking for help in resolving this issue. Any ideas would be helpful.

I had the same problem with our 2004MDTS. WRV fixed the problem under warranty. In the battery compartment they installed a relay that solved the problem. They cut into the Vansco wire harness and connected the relay to the wires they cut. They powered the relay from the chassis batteries. I'm not at the coach and won't be for a couple of weeks. I will get you relay information at that time and also which wires they cut.

alpine4us -Thanks for your reply. My coach is currently in for service at my local RV dealer. I'll pass this info to the technician. Any additional information you have on specifics would be helpful.

I had same problem. It was in the connection of the tail lite in the coach. At first they thought it was bulb but it seems as the bulb holder was jiggled around (70M miles) it made contact with the sides or some other part within the housing and caused the problem. Coach Care in Orlando found it. no parts needed and think it was min labor charge of one hour but took about 20 mins.
