Brakemaster system install
I have a roadmaster 9060 supplemental system designed for coaches with hydraulic brakes. It comes with an electric air compressor and air tank to actuate an air cyclinder which operates the brake pedal in the toad.
There is a proportioning valve which is plumbed into the hydraulic brake system to modulate the air pressure the the air cyclinder.
My question is, does anyone know of any reason that I can't just use the existing Alpine chassis compressed air system in lieu of installing the electric compressor/tank?
Has anyone else done this?

I just installed a 9160 on my toad, this system uses the air from the MH to activate the brakes. I would think you could eliminate the hydraulic interface and just use the MH air like the 9160 does.

I also recently installed the 9160 (with break away) in my toad and coach. I just read the installation intructions for the 9060 and don't see any reason you couldn't do what you're suggesting. Of course you would probably need some different connectors for the coach part of the install. Due to difference in cost one thing you might consider if you have an eBay account, is to sell your 9060 and purchase a 9160.

I did exactly what you are asking. My former Motor Home had air brakes, after purchase of the Alpine I bought the portioning valve and used the exiting air system

Mine is also hooked up using coach air. The proportioning valve was installed at the ABS unit located in the back cargo ceiling between the frame rails. I would have to check but believe it was installed in one of the lines supplying pressure to the ABS module.

I installed the valve in front of the rear wheel, driver"s side, on the frame rail. Installed a T fitting where the steel brake line splits into the rubber hoses to each rear brake. I used a rubber hose brake line to feed the proportioning valve. Be sure to bleed the line to the valve after getting all hooked up.

It will be spring before I install the system so I may have a few more questions then and will get back to if I do. Mostly was just wondering about whether there would be any problems using the coach air vs using the electric compressor.

Looks like I misunderstood. I thought you had an air brake system on your coach. Sorry about that.
