One of the members sometime back had asked if anyone new of a 110 Volt cooktop. I don't know if they received an answer but on page 50 in the Mar. issue of FMCA there is an ad for a 110V cooktop. 2 & 3 burner. InterCon Marketing. (888) 551-1041, www.123icm.com.

IIRC, there was an article in FMCA or another RV mag about a 31' coach that had no permanent stove but used one of these. Sort of flips the stove-cover-to-match-counter-top design on its head- instead of extending the interrupted counter top with a stove cover, they had an uniterrupted counter that they occupied with a stove when needed. Actually a pretty clever use of space, IMO.
I wonder if you could make this work with a flip-down design... Hmmmm, you'd get another drawer and more counter space...
Or maybe have the stove descend from the ceiling like the Trek bed...

Some time ago I mentioned the 120v cooktop made by Alpine (no, not THAT Alpine) by Kenyon.click here However, it may not operate on PA power.

While you are working on the 6th or 7th day, we are RV'ing . Come on, time to have some fun . Start up that Alpine, blow the cobwebs out of the exhaust . 78 degrees here this weekend. I'll send pictures of where we go .

I'll show Patty that web site. She might like the flat burners.

My thought on the flat butners, with a residential ref. & hydro hot heat aways goes the propane. Makes traveling out here and I am sure out west as well a lot easier. If we go south within two hours we come to Baltimore and tunnels. Without the propane we can go through them. Huge time factor.

I have been considering the switch, another advantage would be getting about 200 LBS off the left front tire and gaining a storage compartment.

Ted, that's a really good point. We out here in the wild West tend to forget that traveling in the East is more of a challenge. We did talk a while back in the Focus Group about an all electric coach...do folks here think I should reintroduce the topic with this cooktop?

Wayne, you have a good point as well, though I think the propane tank is positioned differently in the new rigs. They have a longer cylinder with a reduced circumference that goes across the entire width of the coach. But, you definitely would gain storage!

Ted......Could you expand on the propane and tunnels on the East coast issue We have only traveled in western USA and have not encountered an issue with propane. I am now curious about this, since we plan on going east sometime this year. Thanks
