Where do you buy the hydraulic filter and how hard are they to change?

I bought mine from Filter Supply, 5658 US-64
Farmington, NM 87401 505-325-7472. They had to special order them and I had to buy a package of 6 filters. I think the price was about $100. The housing requires 3 filters. It is a fairly simple but messy procedure. I found the lid somewhat difficult to remove because of access to the bolts around the lid clamp. After the lid is off, reach into the housing with a clean arm and remove the filters which are stacked. Have plenty of clean rags available. Replace in the reverse order, replace the lid and check the fluid level.

They did seem a little difficult to find when I went online looking. However, I had no difficulty finding them at a couple truck supply places. They were only abut $6 each and are very easy to change. The hardest part is draining the fluid from the resevoir. Take the top off the resevoir and remove the three filters, wipe out the resevoir to get any crud that may have materialized, replace filters and refill with fluid. Easy job.

Hello Cedar:

I have ordered the filters from Cummins Northwest, (509) 248-9033 part # (Nelson) 84220-A and I also ordered new seals for the lid the cost is some where around $7 or $8 per filter and they shipped them to me. To drain the reservoir if you look at the bottom you will see one of the fittings marked "drain". Remove the hose and it will drain the reservoir. It takes about 3 or 4 gals. to refill the reservoir.

I did find them at a NAPA and they wanted about $70.00 each, I offered to sell them new original filters that I can buy at 1/10th the cost for $35.00 each but they did not think that was funny.

NAPA has no sense of humor, I guess.

Anybody have the part number for the air filter handy? Does the ISL 400 engine use the same filter as the earlier coaches?

Thanks.
