Co Springs / Denver Electrical Repairs?

Looking for a good shop in the Colorado Springs / Denver corridor to have the batteries & alternator looked at.

Any thoughts on Camping World in the Springs area?

Chassis bats aren't charging while underway and I suspect either bad batteries or the alternator. Dash gauge shows approx 13v while the engine is running.

Can't do any work myself due to hand surgery last month and we're on our way to the Black Hills. Currently at a KOA just south of Las Vegas, NM.

Thanks in advance...

We had great service at the Frederic location a few years back. They have plug in service if you need to stay in the RV while working on it

Don't know specifics about CW in Denver but in general--skip CW for maint issues--IMHO. If alternator is keeping engine running, issue might be the battery isolator [blue, heat-fin box in bat compartment], or your chassis batteries, or cable connections....

I lived in the Denver area until 2 - years ago and found that the Cummins dealer in west Denver was really good. Do NOT go to CW or Diversified Truck & RV in Denver. You could try Freightliner (Transwest) which I now use in the Phoenix area but did not try them in Denver.

Also, the Cummins dealer has electrical hookups for overnight if necessary with access to water for filling your tank. No dump.

Ended up stopping at CW in Longmont. "Sure", they said, "We can test the batteries for you. Our first opening is June 24th..."

What a waste of time.

Since the alternator is keeping everything going while underway (BTW, the gauge is reading 14v consistently), I'll just wait until we get home to address the problem. We are in the Black Hills for a week so I don't need to worry about it for awhile.

I did find my echo charger leads are reversed, so I'll swap those wires while I'm here - maybe that will get some life into the chassis bats.

Yup--getting the echo charger leads straightened out will help while on shore power or genset but not while on the road. Don't know the exact specs but the echo charger is a pretty minimal--kind of like a trickle charger, I think. If you can wait until you get home--great. If you have a v-meter, think I would check the center post on the bat isolator to see if it is getting power from the alternator....

common problem in 2000 and 2001 to have the echo charger leads reversed from the factory. guess this one was never caught before.
