On the battery isolator, does it matters whether the house battery is on battery 1 or battery 2.

Or, unhook the start battery and see which one goes to 0 volts.

Only if you have an isolator with a 4th terminal post. That one is next to the start battery post.

Inside the isolator are 2 diodes, each pointing away from the alt. post.

Thank you, glad I asked. I have the 3 terminal post. I had it reversed.

RV Nation, thank you so much for your assistance concerning my issue. I told it this morning to the best electrical guy I know of in town. I have a SHORT somewhere. He will find it and isolate it. Again, thank you for the assistance.

I tried to put this issue in a new forum but didn't know how to. I search but couldn't figure it out, so that's the reason why I piggy backed on someone else issue.

Whenever I order parts before I finish the process of elimination I usually end up replacing things I didn't need.

That was where I was heading. I changed one piece but that wasn't yet (lucky it wasn't that expensive). I started to buy another piece but after all the inputs I received from this forum I had a friend to run some tests. Everything checked out fine and that's when I decided to take it to someone. Good lesson learned.
