Our local Costco now carries a 20" Sharp LCD TV ($300) that ~perfectly fits our Bedroom TV box.
The width is within 1" and the height affords room for their Toshiba progessive scan DVD player ($50 & ~1" tall) beneath the TV.
I'd been carrying around the dimensions for awhile and finally found the right size; it looks like a "factory fit" installed.
I also ordered a Sanus Systems LCD TV articulating mount (eBay $70) that enables the TV to swing out and creates a hidden storage area behind the TV (course if anyone steals my TV, it won't be a hidden area??!!)

The TV is Sharp model LC-20SH3U at this link:
http://www.sharpusa.com/products/Mod...,1576-,00.html
The DVD is Toshiba model SD-K760 at this link:
http://www.tacp.toshiba.com/dvd/prod...?model=SD-K760
Dimensions are stated under the "detailed specs" button.
The TV mount is Sanus Systems VM3 at this link:
http://www.sanus.com/cgi-bin/web_store.cgi?page=product...art_id=4231350_30703
Note: On the TV, I returned one for a bad pixel. The 2nd TV also had a bad pixel. It's a 640X480 display (good quality with a 480P DVD), so I suppose 1 out of ~300K pixels ain't bad; and it's not so noticeable for me to return again.
I can post pics, but I haven't received the mount to complete the install. It's available at BestBuy for twice the price of an EBay "powerseller".
I've pre-fitted, connected, tested and got everything ready to go; and have planned to add a small board inside the TV box framework to reinforce the mounting.
Sometimes my impatience collides with my bargain hunting; in this case I just had to save the $70 and wait for the mount. It should arrive within a week...

This is a picture I posted after my 17" LCD bedroom tv installation.
I have since made a small changed to the main tv media cabinet for better access to the components. I'll try and shot a new picture soon.

Beatiful work Danny!
Lacking such craftsmanship, I could only pursue an "integrated parts" solution...

Danny, as I mentioned before your workmanship on both the front & rear TV is absoutely lovely as well as the finish you put on. I am going to cheat in the front & use a 32" plasma which I have found in a 31" width which will fit in between the existing cabinets. Time restraints and other reasons make this much more feasible. Primarily laziness is the largest restraint. With a large magnifying glass I can make it look like a 37" like yours, sort of.

Here's a pic of the Sanus mount for the LCD TV. Found a good stud to mount the mount, although not visible, it's right up against the wall under the decorative panel as shown.
Sorry, have a problem pasting the link. Pic is in the photo section under Class A
