FYI, our 2005 40FDTS has been in the Cummins shop for over a week now. The symptoms were a lack of power under load and a "Check Engine" light.
The most recent report is that some kind of ceramic disk in the fuel pump came apart. The shop said this is a new design pump. The coach has about 18,000 miles on it. This is our first engine related problem.

I would guess that the Cummins shop has had the coach on the computer that indicated the fault code relating to the problem. If not, we had identical symptoms on a trip to Zion last year. Stopped at a shop in St George and it turned out to be a two dollar surge suppressor that protected the engine computer.

I had a similar problem several months ago, fortunately not far from the Cummins shop in Amarillo, TX. The fault code indicated low fuel pressure. Replacing both fuel filters fixed the problem. The shop's comment was that they see this on new coaches and attribute it to dirt in the fuel tank and lines when manufactured. It could also be due to dirty fuel. The odometer had about 10,000 miles on it.
