Yes Dennis you can fill it or add engine oil there, but it is a slow process. If you try and put the oil in to fast, it will over flow and make a mess. There is a oil cap on top of the valve cover right above where you are looking but is not as easy to use for filling or adding. When I do a oil change, I use the one on the valve cover to fill, it will take oil fast and not overflow. I use a funnel with a piece of clear 3/4" hose on it. For adding oil, I use the cap/fill on the timing cover you have in your photo.

BTW, do u know anything about the cruise control?

cant figure out why the cruise control wont work on my 2006 alpine coach? Took it today to alliance coach in wildwood fl which is a huge motorhome dealer and service repair center and they called me today and said they cant figure it out either. Done all the test and shows nothing wrong but it wont work. This is crazy!

Yes Dennis, that is why I use the funnel with the 3/4" hose on it brought back out towards you for filling with oil.

If it is not something as simple as a fuse on the cruise control curcuit, it is in the Insight Cummins ECM program or the Allison ECM program, IT WOULD HAVE TO BE HOOKED UP TO A LAPTOP AT THE DEALER WITH THESE PROGRAMS TO SEE IF THE "CRUISE FEATURE" is activated.......or not, then troubleshoot futher from there........It could of been disabled in the ECM or the TCM program????? Just a idea for ya to ponder........
On mine with a Cummins, The on/off feature is in the insite program(Cummins) and the selection of downshift gearing, droop speed(mph over/under) is in the Allison TCM program.

Just proves Dennis that two or more head's are better that one when having problem's!
Sounds like it needs to be hooked up to the proper programs and make sure everything is on and set up right..........the big thing is to find a tech that knows his job and about the programs and the selections that need to be set and can explain the option's to the customer as he is doing it.........It is a vast program in both the ECM and the TCM with a big selection of option's to choose from to personalize the computer;s for your driving habit's........or what you might like......verses how the factory set it up and sold it.
