Greetings from Palm Springs (last week),

Does anybody know where I can buy a dash cover. Now that we have a dog who thinks this is a fun place to be, we need one.

Sun Tek works for me also. Dog (10lb Norfolk Terrier) likes it - especially when he has to get down quickly, so he jumps towards the passenger seat, hits it on the fly and then to the floor in almost one smooth motion.

Basil,

Our vote is for SunTek also. Our cat loves it as well. Also, it cleans up very well...must be treated w/something to prevent stains because just a little soap and water has cleaned greasy finger/palm prints and cat vomit up w/no problems!

Basil - We went over to "Best" in Santee and got our dash cover from them - a little cheaper. Give them a call and see if they have one in stock - 800-328-5100 - while you are still in CA.

We tried a dash cover some time ago in Quartzsite and had to return it. The top was too slippery and when our dog (a 5 pound Yorkie) jumped on the dash he would slide, and then he'd slip when he tried to jump off. I would make sure that the surface allows the pet to safely get on and off the cover. Maybe a heavier weight dog would be okay with a "non-stick" surface.

If you are ever in Yuma go to Arizona RV 928-782-2989. They custom make dash mats and other things. They did our 08 Alpine last fall and did a wonderful job.

Dale - I looked in our file and it is a SunTek we got from Best for $199. It has a special backing to make it not slip - & I am not sure if it is has foam.

EMike.... The cost of dash mat was $241.20. Mine was the first Alpine they did so I am sure there may be some setup charges in that.

Basil,

We purchased our SunTek from http://www.rvshop.com/Dash-Covers_c_1124.html for $230 in 2007. Looks like they are on sale now for $214.

I was planning on getting one myself. Upon some research I found this information, it is old and they may have changed materials. Can those of you who have the Suntek covers check your dash's and let us know how they are doing?
