Any one know who or where I can send a couple of my shades to for string replacement?

Hi Dan, sorry I can't help, but when ours gave out I replaced them with custom made mini-blinds from Lowe's and sure like them much better.

Hopefully another forum member can help you with a repair source.

I bought kits to resting 4 of my shades using restring kits from the Dirty Blind Man. I believe he also does the restringing if you want to pay for it. I was very impressed with the kit and his instructions. 2 and 4 string blinds are pretty easy. Once you get into the wider six string blinds, it is a little tougher. I never had one that I restrung go bad again.

I did ours and it was easy enough to do although fiddly! I bought the string and long needles from Jo Ann's. If you Google restringing day/night shades you will get several videos and descriptions on how to do it. It gets easier the more you do so that by the last one you are and expert and everyone in the Camp Ground will ask you to do theirs!

I kept ignoring mine falling apart, main issue was the plastic yo-yo's that held the string tight, they kept breaking and not holding the string tight.
I did all the research, and kept hearing how easy it was but I kept walking around the issue.
I bought 6 new keepers from FixMyBlinds.com and they lay in the drawer with all my tools, until yesterday, I got real bored and thought "how hard can this be".
To my amazement I ended up reparing 4 shades, I even suprised myself.
Next I have one that the string broke in, thats today--unless I find something else to do.

They really aren't that hard to repair. When my first one broke I took it to a local shade store to have repaired. They didn't want to touch it, so I did it myself. I have since bought a spool of 3000'

of proper sized nylon cord from eBay because finding the cord locally was hard.

I did it!
First one took 3 hrs.
Second took 1 hr.
It's not hard. Most frustrating part was getting the screws back in the same holes when remounting the shade.

Tip, use a toothpick.
