Has anyone replaced their day/night shades with some other kind of shade? Our motor home is only a little over a year old. Buddy has already did some work on the one over the couch. The big one in the bedroom has part of the shade torn, but it still works okay. Now this morning I was opening the big one by the recliner, and one of the strings shredded.

The irony of this is that I won't even let Buddy pull them up and down. I do it myself, making sure I place my hands at intervals of thirds across the shades. And this still has happened!

If they are not going to last over a year, I would like to replace them with something else. Has anyone done this?

Beverly and Buddy, in Idaho, on our way to WRV in Yakima.

Buddy and Beverly,
Go to Find>Advanced Search and type in 'shades, string, fraying' in the "with at least one of the words" bar; Search by: All Forums. I did this and came up with numerous topics on day/night shades, kits, nylon guide alignment suggestions, etc. Follow up on these posts and you will get lots of help and information on how to care for your day/night shades.

evidently Day & night has lost a lot of business to MCD. Tiffin, Country Coach, Monaco, Newmark etc. are offered as standard equipment on 08 coaches, their site is www.mcd-rv.com Do a search for MCD at www.tiffinrvnetwork.com for a good discussion.
Best of luck, Larry
