We have developed a diesel leak from our generator, when it's running. It appears to be coming from the driver's side of the generator, and dripping about mid-way back from inside the sound shield housing. Will drip enough in an hour's running to produce about a 6" circle on the ground.

Since it's still on warranty I'm going to take it to Cummins NW to have them repair it instead of taking the sound shield apart and finding it myself, and being accused of tampering with it. Coach is one year old and generator has 102 hours on it.

I'm curious - have others had this leak -- on the 7500 QuietDiesel? If so, is is usually just the supply hose not clamped tightly, or something else?

A little follow up on this diesel leak. Cummins NW repaired it for me at no charge on warranty.

Appears my guess was mostly right -- the supply hose to the fuel pump was leaking at the connection, but the fuel filter (which was replaced on a generator service by them 3 weeks ago) was also not installed properly and was leaking around the filter. They said it was actually a difficult fix on the supply hose because they couldn't get to the leak and the connection to tighten it without removing a cross member under the generator.

So, it appears we're fixed on this, but thought I would let you know what happened on this diesel leak. It's also good to let them do it when it's still under warranty, if you can.
