I am in need of a replacement "Dometic dual 15,000 btu AC w/integrated heat pump w/o Hydro Hot" shroud for my forward AC on my 2005 36 MDDS Alpine Coach. The old one is charcoal and I'm having a difficult time finding a replacement. The old one has a crack down the side and might be repairable as the screw holes are all intact.

There was a previous thread that identified the following link as a source for replacement AC shrouds: Replacement RV Parts & Fender Skirts - AC Shrouds & more - IconDirect.com (Good price IIRC)
I don't have have experience with the Icon Direct source but I'll try them if & when my shroud breaks. I've replaced the front shroud 3 - times and use a 2' bungee cord across both AC units to make sure they don't come off.

My AC cover cracked about 2 years ago. What I did is removed the cover and sealed the crack from the inside with foil tape and installed a few more sheet metal screws to secure the cover better. No problems in the 2 years since.

Just ordered three for my 15,000 Dometic Penguins from Eldon RV Products in Texas . I ordered black ones. They come in three different colors. Black was $97 + shipping. Just Google Eldon Rv
I ordered two from Icon in Canada last year. After waiting three weeks for delivery, I was disappointed. Plane janes and no plastic tag that tells you what they are made of. They fit but the ones from Eldon are cheaper and they are genuine Dometics.

We had the same problem a few years back. I cut some 2"x3" pieces off some scrap stainless steel and super glued it to the shroud, redrilled the holes and secured in place. I never had another problem..... Good Luck Tom

Kudos to Engineer Mike on this one--if you replace the shroud on your Penguin unit[s], make sure the foam on the inside of the the new shroud matches the outline of radiator coil and fan box on the old unit. If you dont seal off the top of the coil and blower fan, ambient/outside air will by-pass the cooling coil and reduce your heat pump's cooling/heating capacity. Good call Mike--your spouse was correct!

Just received my three genuine Penquin replacement black covers from Eldon RV out of Texas. They were cheaper than the ones out of Canada and they are the same as the originals. The Canadian covers are plain jane and don't have the original vent holes cut in the side. If yours are charcoal colored they have been painted. Just order the black ones. And they come with new foam kits. The ones from Canada don't.
