The dates for the Quartzsite DRRIX have been set and are Jan 20 thru 25. The fee for an ACA member is $60 , non ACA member $100. A single member coach or each additional person is $30.

The registration form is posted on the ApineCoachAssociation web page. It can also be requested by email at LABSR@AOL.com.

Come join us in the desert and bring as much firewood as you can. If you play an instrument or have a beautiful music voice, bring those too and sing-a-long with those of us who don't.

Your host Gary and Diana Shanander are planning a great rally for you. See you there.

As much as we want to be there, I will be in school in Florida by then. Now if it was in April, we would be there. I guess I should check ACA's website, because I need to meet everyone and their is no better way than the rally's.

I'm curious...where does the Alpine group hold their "QZ Rally"?

MM:

Per Basil - From Quartzsite, go north on State 95 toward Parker. You pass a BLM campground. This ain't it. At Plomosa road, turn right (Marked and on the map). Between mile marker 2 & 3, you will see the ... Alpine's to the left. Turn north (left) onto BLM land and bear left to the rally site.

It's accurate, I've found 'em twice (in the middle of the night, too!).

There will be "ACA" arrow signs after you turn on to Plomosa Road that will lead you all the way in. Come see us.

Can you take a look at the map located here? There is a "purple marking" on the north end. Does that look like the right area? You can use that map link to help your members that have never been to the QZ Rally get there if it is accurate.
(Someone can PM me if they have the exact GPS location - and I will set it on the map)

Yep, sure does. That is where the group turns in. The gathering is usually to the west, maybe 200 yds, of your original mark at approx N33 45' 56 W114 10' 22".

Engineer Mike...
Will you be heading down to Mexico after Quartzsite? Would you like me to bring some "donations" to take down to the Mexican village that you go to?

Was wondering if there are any changes planned as a result of the weather forecast for the Quartzite area this week? I'm assuming not, but was wondering before I make the drive over there.

:
I have a question....

There is a charge to "boondock" on Federal BLM land????

Or is this a featured campground? (hookups etc..)

Not a slam, I just want to understand..

Mike... I believe the charges are for the rally costs...ie...food and that type of stuff.
We have a group of folks that are mainly from the Monaco iRV2 members. We all paid $40 per rig - which is what the BLM is charging for a 2 week period to get water and dumping....we are in La Posa South...but then we are just meeting here on our own and doing things as we feel like doing things...

M Mama - You are right on- We have several meals served (as well as some potlucks) and a number of activities ... Plus this year we will have a TENT - which will be great as showers are expected for several days. The actual cost is quite a bit more but ACA kicks in some for members!
