When the thermostat is set on cool mode and the fan is set to automatic the fan is supposed to start on high if there is a difference of 8 degrees or more between the setting and ambient temperature. If the difference is 4 degrees or less the fan is supposed to operate on low.

My fan has never run on anything but high at any time. The only way to get the fan to run on low is to set the fan manually on low. However the fan will then continue to run when the air compressor shuts off.

Is there any way to change settings so that the auto mode will work as advertised?

Interesting--we replaced our back unit[compressor lock-up] a couple years ago and it only seems to run on low. Anyway, there are a series of old-style "dip-switch" settings on each unit that control master Vs slave, which unit controls the propane furnance interface, etc [switches located in the metal electical box on side of unit--once you remove the outside shroud(roof of coach)]. I dont have the factory guide for the setting options but this might be a place to start looking.
