Electrical issues

Alpine owners, help!
I have a 2008 40MDTS. When I went to get it out of winter storage the chassis batteries needed replacing which I did. When I turned on the chassis battery main switch there were no lights on the Vansco Multiplex Module. (The one in the battery compartment.) I unplugged all ports on the Vansco in hopes it would reboot but no go. When I turn on the ignition the gauges turn on but no engine crank and then there is a message that there is a "Transmission Communication Error". Sounds bad.
Next, the house battery functions were working initially but now those functions are not working either (Smartbeds, etc.)
Is there a master fuse or breaker somewhere that could be the issue? Any other ideas. I really need a brilliant Alpiner mind to help me with this.
Thanks for any insight you can provide.

I'll add one more thing. I tried to access the Alpine Tech Library on the ACA website but got a message box saying 404. This page does not exist. Is there another way to get there?
Thanks,
Dave

You need to post this on the Alpine owners forum instead of the class A forum.
First things I would do is check for charge on both battery banks, clean and tighten chassis ground and make sure both disconnect switches are on and working.

Dave, Type Vansco in search bar and there is much reading to be done. Sorry I can't help you directly.

...common issue when changing out batteries is to forget to reattach the common ground cable that combines the two battery banks..... chassis bats are 12v with cables in parallel, house bats are 6 volt with two in series, then groups of 2 bats in parallel to create 12v. ...as suggested, I would clean and reinstall all the battery cable connections first.....
PS--even new bats can be bad off the shelf--need to load test each one to be sure....

electrical issues

I had the same symptoms, try the above options first. Then swap the front and rear Vansco units. My battery compartment Vansco was dead and a new unit was obtained, after much trying to procure. The new unit programmed correctly and fixed the problem.

If that doesnít fix it go back to basics, measure the volts at the batteries, measure the volts available at the HWH, check the fuse.

That's very helpful. Thanks! Where did you locate a replacement unit?

electrical issue

I suggest you PM members TMan59 and RDM3525 with your question and also see reply#5. Sorry I cannot help you with a source. Vansco is one reason I upgraded the coach, as both failed over time.

Thanks, RsSmith. I appreciate the extra help and hoping that I don't have an obsolete Vansco that I can't replace. I'll PM the 2 members that you recommend.
