Engine heat in bedroom
Has anybody come up with a way to eliminate or at least reduce the engine heat in the bedroom, closet and rear area?
The drawers and the closet are like a furnace after a few hours of driving and it makes the bedroom very difficult to cool down.
Any suggestions???
Thanks, Terry

Cut a vent at the top of the rear cap, up near the marker lights. That will allow the heat to escape and reduce the problem, about half the year you will appreciate the heat, the rest of the year I understand.

Dave,
Sounds like you've added the vent. I believe I'll add it to my list of improvements. Would you happen to have a picture you could post and also the type of vent you cut in?
Thanks

Well, ours came with a 15K BTU over the road air cond. for the bedroom to keep it cool while traveling. Nice little extra CC did in some of their rigs. Have yet to use it though.

As soon as I stop I open the bedroom window, pull the bedding back and turn on the roof fan. Helps cool the bed down.

One of the first things I do after stopping for the day is to open the engine bay door to allow the heat to escape.

On hot days--leave the rear engine hatch open while you are driving. Then leave it open after you park to let the trapped heat out....

Does the engine compartment have insulation over the engine? Mine fell off several years ago and I replaced it with the rigid insulation.
