My entry door awning is now inoperative.

As of now all I get is a click up near the motor when I try to extend it. I do not remember straining the motor and if I am getting power to the switch (click noise) I don't think it's a fuse. Before I take everything apart, I would like to know if anyone has repaired their power awning and what should I look for first? Also if it's the motor, can it be replaced easily?

Do you know what Union the Door Awning is associated with? Is this an organized strike or a work stoppage? My guess it is just a work stoppage and will not go back to work until you improve the working conditions!

Some examples of poor working conditions would be straining the motor or repeatedly demanding that it moves in and out in all weather conditions. You will probably have to buy something for it to make it happy before it will go back to work you.

Negotiations are on going.

I will meet with the awning today to further investigate it's demands. I am still hoping the request will be minimal, like a fuse. It's demands are yet to be determined to resolve the work stoppage and if all else fails I will move the coach to a right to work state.

Mine went on strike when still under warranty due to a lack of drainage in the motor housing ...sitting in water was the complaint. Dealer dried the motor out, drilled a drain hole in the bottom of the housing, and it has been happy for the past 8 years. I have heard of others having the same issue...

Have you tried the voice activated method? It does work sometimes, depending on the tone of voice!

Over the years I have found that none of the parts on my coach respond at all to verbal threats. Many don't respond to physical violence either.

(I don't have a door awning, so that's all I can contribute. Sorry.)

Jim W- are you pushing the rocker switch the right way? If its retracted & I push it to the retract side, I just get a click also.

I get the click with the remote or the hard wired switch when pushed in either direction. It sounds like the relay clicking but the motor will not activate. I have checked all the fuses I can find so far and have not found a bad fuse or a fuse labeled for the awning. All the wiring is concealed under the cover for the motor and I will need to remove the motor to get to the wiring to get a meter on it to check if I am getting power to the motor, but I will continue to look for a fuse before I start taking apart the awning.

I'm thinking if there's a click, that there's electricity to power the unit, but the unit no go.
It wants better working conditions, warm in the winter, cool in the summer, and dry all the time.

Some times these things can be difficult. I'm thinking that the motor was out late one night in the rain, over indulged in too much liquid libations, rusted it's it's insides and can not make it to work when called upon. My next step is to remove the motor and see if it works when I apply power to it.

Jim I have been banging my head

to think of what it could be, as this just happened to the Oriente’s Coach and it could be the wind sensor that went on strike?

I am going into negotiations with it tomorrow to see if we can get it back to work.

We need help too! Our 18' awning only works intermittingly. We've been trying to find out some information and it could be the control box located in a basement compartment ( first one right of the mid-door) or so our local RV shop says. At $95/hr, we want to do some more research on our own. Any help with the control box would be great. There are 3 wires - Yellow, brown and green. Up, down and ground?
