I am investigating the purchase of an extended warranty for our Coach. Preliminary looking around has given me Xtraride (Protective) as a possible source. Cost for standard coverage enduring 48,ooo miles is about $3,200.00. Cost for the Platinum coverage is about $4,200.00 for the same 48,000 miles.

Does anyone have experience with this particular company. If so, what has it been?

Lastly, is anyone willing to make a recommendation for others?

Bob & Peg, I have an Xtraride(Protective Platinum)extended policy. I have not as yet used it but I have been in touch with them in two situations that I felt I would need to use them and they were most receptive. I was impressed with their knowledge of motorhomes.

Ted,

Did you purchase Xtraride from your dealer? I can't find anything re: Xtraride that doesn't state it is obtained from an RV dealer.

Thanks.

Jim & Ingrid, yes, I did purchase it from our dealer at time of purchase. If you would like some info on it I certainly can come up with whatever I have.

Ted,

Thanks but I don't think we'll pursue it since it seems to be a dealer thing.

Ingrid

Check out www.warrantyexperts.com and talk with Jason. I just signed up for the "diamond" coverage, 6 yrs. 70000 miles for $2832. An '05 coach with 30000 miles is treated as a new coach for warranty purposes.

OK, I just received a quote from Warranty Experts, which is $3,299.00 for 4 years/50,000 miles. Coverage is pretty inclusive and it has a "Money back guarantee" should I have no claims in the 4 years.

All-in-all, not bad, considering the age of the Alpine.

Has anyone had experience with making a claim with them (know about how they handle/process/pay a claim)?

Any other people having "experienced" a reason for making a claim with ANY company?

We are in the process of a claim with ACC which is a Prevost provider. We picked up this policy in QZ predicting the worst with the radiator scare. It is an exclusionary policy that indeed covers radiators and just about everything else on the coach including the stereo, flat screen tvs etc. It is a five year policy that we paid about $2600 for. Preliminary stuff was very positive and we are now waiting for approval. Will let you know the outcome next week.

Thank you for that information.
I'd be very interested in the outcome of your experience with them.

So far, ACC appears to be a good protection policy at a reasonable cost.

I emailed ACC for a quote via their website. After 5 days I received a response today with them telling me they are in Florida and can't quote coverage for a motorhome in California. I guess California's reputation for "trouble" preceeds us! Insurance companys never cease to amaze me.
