Finding vin number

We own a 2001 Alpine Coach and cannot find the vin number. Owner manual says it's on the chassis. We have looked everywhere. Does anyone know where to find it?

It should be on your title and insurance papers.

Most VIN# are located on the driver side dash some are so close to the windshield that you have to read them from the outside looking in. Jim

that's done by design - they're meant to be read from the outside, through the windshield. Makes sense with a car - motorhomes being somewhat taller makes it difficult to see the vin plate, though!

Alpine VIN was in 3 places at time of manufacture:
1) decal someplace inside the rig; by the driver's chair, on the back side of the cabinet door over the counter (one in the corner) were the two usual spots
2) decal on the front bulkhead ahead of the driver's feet, readable by putting out the gen slide
3) stamped into a tag that is riveted to the lower left hand frame rail, ahead of the front axle, general area of below the brake master cylinder
Hope that helps.

I was surprised that only one person, Engineer Mike, could answer your question. The easiest place is to run out the generator, # will be on drivers side on the bulk ahead, immeadiatly below the cowl. old trucker

In my humble opinion, once someone answers the question the subject is closed and no further comment is needed.

Thread isn't really closed until OP reports he found it. Did I miss that post?
