Forum Search
I am wondering if I'm doing something wrong when searching a subject. Whenever I enter a topic in the search I end up with a couple of pages of posts that mention the topic somewhere in the body of the post. I seldom get a specific title. I realize that not all subjects have been specifically addressed but I just want to make sure I searched correctly before posting another question. Like this one
Thanks, Terry

Have you tried the Advance Search page. It allows you to limit your search to the Title field only.

Which search tool are you using?
I find this one to return the most relevant posts

That's the most effective one.

Agree--the search option embedded at the top of the relevant thread frame doesn't seem to limit the search fields anymore. Unfortunately, the global Google search option at the top of the page seems to search entire data base. This forum use to be a really powerful search tool for historical reference material--not so helpful anymore.

Thanks all,
I tried the google search and it seems to be quite a bit better. I'll start using it.

Terry,
I was having the same problem. A lot of people really touted that searches were really good "here". I have had very little luck narrowing a specific search. Can one of the OG guys on here that often say "just do a search" confirm that it is still working well, and then teach us new guys how to search multiple words in the Alpine Forum Please!!!! Pretty please!

Totally agree. I used to be able to search the Alpine forum and find exactly what I needed. Not now. How do we get back to an "accurate search"?

Using the Alpine forum as an example I was able to make very precise searches within that forum using the advance search page. I'm not sure I understand what problems you are having.

Not sure if related to the IPhone App or not because that is the only way I am able to read the forum. I know when doing a search with the App it brings up everything. Before when using a laptop or desktop it would allow me to be specific and bring up related threads by topic only.

Thanks
