The 3/16 sq drive shafts sound like simple key-way stock available online or from a good hardware store (which is not as scarce a commodity as an honest politician, but you can still find one in large towns if you ask around). You could cut a new drive shaft to length & see if that decreases the back talk you get from the window treatment.

Yes mike, the key stock is off the shelf at NAPA. Verify the size.

I'm not seeing how to get to the gears to lube them. Maybe I'll have someone look at them in May at the Pendleton Rally?
