I bought a used 2002 Alpine Coach 40' diesel pusher. There was not anyone available to show me if all the coach equipment worked. So after replacing the house batteries and a broken wire for the bedroom slides I still cannot get the living room slide to work. This appears to be a blown fuse. I found the one fuse panel in the bathroom. But I cannot find any fuses for the slides or power seats, radio, etc. anyone know where or if there is another fuse panel.

Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Congrats on the new rig! If your bay storage door open upward there will probably be interlock switches that keep the slideouts from moving when the doors are open. One of the switches may be bad or out of adjustment. Keep her between the ditches!

Welcome to the Alpine Coach forum. You will find a lot of outstanding information on this site. Alpines are an unusual coach, so be sure you take recommendations from people that are not familiar with Alpines with a grain of salt.

The 2002 coaches have fuses behind the panel in front of the passengers seat. That panel is held in placed by Velcro strips.

There are no fuses for the individual slides. Please tell us more about your symptoms, does the HWH pump run when you attempt to extend the living room slide? I do not believe the problem is a fuse, more likely a valve within the HWH system.

...as Dr Dave mentioned, Alpines have a number of "particularities" that other coaches may not have, so the Alpine owners forum is a good resource for all things Alpine. Another source is the alpinecoachassociation.com website technical library. Third is the technical meetings "gearhead sessions" at our rallies. Check out the website, see what ACA is all about and consider joining us at a future rally.
As for fuses, location and type vary by model year and model type. For your 2002, you have engine/tranny related fuses in the rear compartment by the air filter; for automotive/chassis fuses [eg radio] are in front of passenger seat, under dash; 12v house fuses are usually in/under the bathroom vanity cabinet. Pass/driver seats fuses are unique--either in line or perhaps on the ceiling of the battery compartment. Tip--If you changed batteries, make sure you reconnected all the cables to include the cross-ground cable that ties the two battery banks together.
PS--for many models of Alpine, for main slide to operate, the jacks must be deployed.

IF nothing is happening when you press the rocker switch in the console, look for a blue 15 Amp fuse marked "HWH" on the front panel in front of the passenger seat. This fuse powers those rocker switches.

You should also check the micro relays inside those black covers on the panel. I've had one come loose and almost fall out which affected the HWH system. Just make sure they're all pushed in good & snug.

You all are awesome thank you. So I did find all the additional fuses in front of the drivers seat. Did not find anything bad in the way of fuses. The main slide will not move. This is becoming very challenging. Although I have not tried with the jacks down. Does the engine need to be on as well.

.....no engine required but the HWH pump does take some amps so being plugged into shore power would be good.....no slide locking mechanism as some have suggested.... but likely on the 2002, jacks must be deployed for main slide ops....

Having a 2005, my coach is different, but if the bedroom slides are operating, I would be looking for something specific to the living room slide. The drawer slide on which the switch is mounted on is known to have issues with cable length, IIWMI’d be looking at the back of that switch and make sure all the wires are connected and not shorted together. You know the bedroom slides work, that means the HWH system is working at a broad level. So either the switch for the living room slide is not working, the relay or the valve. If when you press the switch you hear the pump run it is either a relay or valve issue. If you do not hear the pump run it is a switch problem.

I have a 1998 36SDS. I had a similar problem. I called HWH they said I had a fuse located outside behind the panel that houses the solenoids. It is buried behind the solenoids but with enough wire to pull it out in front of the solenoids to change the fuse. If memory serves me it was a 30 or 40 amp blade fuse.

Slides are often Circuit Breakerd since that slide likely draws 10 amps running more starting (Turned a 25 amp fuse into a flash bulb mine did)

Some require MOTOR RUNNING to move.. Just so you know.
Some require MOTOR OFF (mine).

You all are the best. So I lowered the jacks and the living room slide went out. When I tried to retract nothing happened. I turned on the jacks and the slide retracted. So it appears the Jack power has to be on for the living room slide to work. Does that sound correct.

....sometimes its the simplest answer that works---yet, we often get tangled up thinking the problem "must" be more difficult.....again, HWH procedures vary between model years but generally speaking, you have to have the HWH panel turned on for slides to work in either direction, and in the case of the main slide the jacks must be extended too. The exception on your coach [mine is a 2003], is the genset slide will operate with the HWH panel off, but the ignition key has to be in the "accessory" or "on" positions. Keep the questions coming--that is what the forum is for........
PS--tapping the "on" button on the HWH panel once will turn on the panel; tapping it twice activates the jack auto-level function. I am told manually lowing the jacks a few inches will allow the main slide to be deployed but most owners of our vintage Alpine just auto-level the jacks before deploying the main slide.
