I'm the third owner of a 2001 36MDDS Alpine coach. Within the last month, I've noticed that the generator slide creeps out a little each day. After 3 days or so, it's out 1".

When I retract it, the right side comes in tight to the front cowling, but the left side is still 1/2" away (and yes, the warning light stays on telling me the slide is out).

Anybody else have this problem, or have a suggestion on what I can check?

Thanks in advance for your help

Minor

I am assuming you have the hydraulic slide version of the Generator assembly. My guess is the solenoid valve which controls the gen slide has some debris in it.

First download and read the HWH manual on your hydraulic system, especially learn about the different solenoid valve types and what and how to loosen the little nuts or turn the handles and how much you can loosen them.
Next try to determine which solenoid valve controls the generator slide. Loosen the valve nut/handle about 1/2 to 3/4 turn and cycle the genset. If there is any foreign debris in the valve body, this should allow it to be cleared out and it should quit doing this. If this does not fix it, then a new solenoid valve needs to be installed. Since this coach is out of HWH warranty, my above suggestion about learning about the system and which valve is the culprit will keep the diagnostic time to a minimum. I understand it's not a long time to change out the valve body but I have not done one yet.

I have a bedroom vanity slide which goes in on its own and the solution is as I described above, but I have not done the suggested repair yet, because I need to find the solenoid valve for the slide. Hope this helps.
