We were in Elkhart having the mis-sized bolts replaced between the frame and suspension (see http://www.irv2.com/forums/f104/poss...05s-66414.html) and we asked them to look at our problem of low cold water pressure. It didn't matter what the city water pressure was, or if we used the pump, the cold water pressure in the kitchen, bathroom and toilet was awful. And, It took about 40 seconds to get a decent amount of water in the toilet. We had no idea how the tech could track the problem. The tech later came into the waiting room with a coffee cup that had about 1/4" of crispy little white things that he had extracted from the lines leading to the sinks and toilet. They appeared to be calcification. Now, these pieces are too big to get through the screen at the water inlet, so they must form as the minerals from the water build up. The sink pressures are now much better and the toilet fills in about five seconds! Just a heads up in case others are experiencing this problem.

Hmmmm, I have never seen calcification on plastic water pipes, not to say it could not happen. My other guess is it is residue from assembling the system in the first place, by not cleaning up any debris when the pipe was cut and just plain dirt when the coach was made. Now, if you sanitize the system about once every 6 months (assuming full time use) or at intervals of over 30 days of non use, the chlorine solutions used might eat up that stuff. Another way to prevent this is to pre-filter the incoming water. Your RV Regulator should be the first thing you put on the park water outlet, then the fresh water hose which connects to the RV. At the regulator, you should have a screen washer and the point of entry into the rv should also have a screen washer. Hope this helps.

The tech also thought it might be plasic residue from the original construction, but it was small crunchy chips. But, I hope you're right about that because that might mean it wouldn't happen again. I thought it was strange since I do have 1) a screen on the pressure regulator, 2) I run the hose to a water filter, and 3) there is a screen on the water inlet at the coach. Chips that size could not possibly come in thru the screens.
