We have a 2001 Alpine motorhome. It has the navigation system but its outdated. Has anyone tried updating theirs? Just wondering...

I am not aware that 01 Alpines had a navigation system as an option and i bought my 01 new. I would think yours is an aftermarket installation

My 2001 Alpine came with a Navigation and driving assist unit, it has never been updated and I cannot shut it off, in fact I had it before I purchased the Alpine.

I second the Garmin 660. Ours has LMT (Lifetime Maps and Traffic) and we got the rearview camera with it.

Dave, I'm often able to silence my Navigation & Driving Assist unit (NDA) by frequent applications of a Margarita or Chardonnay lubricant.

Of course, every so often applying said lubricants increases the volume and intensity of the NDA unit... Haven't quite figured out the correlation between frequency and quantity.

So true, so true, in fact I purchased my first Garmin in order to quiet my Driving Assist down a bit. She was always hogging the map and saying, "Oh, that was our turn back there."

Now the soothing voice of the Garmin simply says, "Recalculating".

You both have the same version of NDA that I do, it ALWAYS tells me about the turn AFTER we pass it. The NDA is always right, just have to fix the timing, maybe the lubricant will do the job?

If you ever find the correct lubricant to correct the timing of directions, quickly patent it...you'll make billions!
