Hard to find Alpine parts

I ran across this link and thought it might be useful for anyone in need of Alpine parts -- especially body panels and anything Alpine specific.

2003 ALPINE WESTERN - 2003 WESTERN - 00687743E02

This dealer has a 2003 Alpine mid-door that he is "parting out" so it is, in effect, a one vehicle junk yard for an Alpine.

Dave and Jaime... Do you know if the year before or the year after models have inter-changable parts with the 2003 model year?

Dave & Jaime,
I would like to find the 8" X 12" (approx) piece on the driver's side that covers the front slide-out ram(?). Mine is somewhere on the side of the road somewhere in the U.S. There are two of these slide out frames that have covers of that approx. size. I havew one left. Need the other.

2003s had the cover running the entire length between the slide arms--dont think WRV used the smaller arm covers until 2005, or later[you didnt mention yr model year or color scheme]. Would think almost any body shop could fabricate the covers...besides, depending on color scheme/number of paint stripes on the covers, painting will be the primary expense, not the metal fab.....

Those small cover panels are a very simple aluminum "pan." I believe they were supplied by Magic Metals of Union Gap, WA. You could contact MM or have it made locally. Doesn't have to be made of aluminum, could use steel sheet as long as it is painted on both sides.

Thank you for your reply, old scout, however it is difficult to argue with what I have. A 2003 FDTS coach that originally belonged to Basil Shannon. In my attendance at Alpine Rallies, I have found that the two small end pieces ceased after 2003. I don't know how long before 2003 they were in use.
But, thanks to the replies I've received, I will contact MM in Union Gap.

Thanks to y'all for your responses and your help.

Jim

OOPS--my bad--our 2003 MDTS has the single-length slide arm cover. Keep forgetting WRV made changes thru-out the model year....but again, the metal fab will be "cheap"--the painting is where they'll get you...

Are those metal "tabs" on the sides of the slides (the return)? Mine only has the long single piece, along tyhe length of the slide, but nothing on the sides to block the view of the mechanics. Does someone have a picture?

Take- some had one small cover over each ram end (two total), most rigs have the single, long metal cover which includes coverage of the slide return winch setup. I believe the missing cover is one of the smaller, individual covers.

eMike:

Darn! I was smelling a mod coming on. I thought maybe it was an extra skirt that was added later to hide the side view under the slide.

Oh well!

I suppose you could add an accordion sort of skirt on the ends, Hmmmm......
Or maybe just shake up a cold martini and think about it...

Oh, for that martooni! I see where you referred to the retract winch on the slide, Mike, and it even refers to it in the HWH book. However, my '03 38' FDTS doesn't have any winch set up on it. Thanks to everyne for their suggestions and thoughts.
