Why not use an HDMI to DVI cable you only loose the audio witch needs to be fed to the Kenwood anyhow via audio cables. I have had an HD HR20 hooked up to mine that way. I also get over the air digital HD channels; the Sharp Aquos is DTV ready with no converter.

I agree with Wayne. Why bother using an HD TV and a HD satellite box, and then use an S-video connection that will not support the HD signal? The technician is right, you can connect it that way. But why would you want to??? I would use the HDMI to DVI cable like Wayne suggests. Or at least use component video connections. Those support HD signals.

If I had a technician who suggested using S-video over DVI for connecting HD components, I would find a different technician! He's not giving you good advice.
