Here's a puzzler

We bought LED's at an FMCA rally. I asked the salesman if they were "dimmable". He assured me they were. While hooked to shore power, they did in fact dim. Fast forward to today when we are dry camping off the inverter the LED's which are on a dimmer switch come on very dimly. The others work well. With the generator running, the ones on the dimmer work properly. As a test, I removed one of the LED's on a dimmer and replaced it with a C10 halogen. The string now operates properly with one halogen and 3 LED's on the dimmer string while on inverter power. What do you suppose is happening?

Do you still have a modified sine wave inverter? If so try the LED's on a coach that has a true sine wave inverter, you will find they work properly.

Thanks Dave

I have the same problem and I do have a modified sine wave inverter. I thought it was just the cheap LEDs from China!!

Unless the OEM inverter in your 2006 Alpine has been replaced [down graded to an MS], your coach came with a pure sine wave Xantrax RS2000???????If the LEDs are the only thing drawing on the inverter during your test--they may not be pulling enough amps to kick on the inverter side--only guessing......

We have the Freedom SW 2012. I moved all the LED's off the dimmers and replaced them with Halogen incandescent bulbs.
