What is the proper way to lube the generator slide? I have had several occurrences where the slide not only has had problems opening but also closing all the way. On occasion I have had to help it along to get it started to open. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what was the fix. I am tempted to grease the screw drive but I do not want to make the problem worse by creating a dust magnet o the screw drive.

I suspect that your problem is not in the screw drive but in the alignment of the slide guides and locks. We had the same problem and corrected it by having the slide aligned correctly.

I think any rv repair shop can do the job. When we had it done at Guaranty in Gilroy (since closed) they said it was a 30 minute job.
