HWH issues

When I extend or retract my slides the pump is shooting rapid spurts of fluid instead of the normal smooth flow. I have a 2005 40 fdqs. I am thinking it is a failing solenoid and have ordered one from HWH. They are asking if it is an intermittent solenoid or a continuous one. Does anyone know, and does it sound like I am on the right track. Any ideas most welcome

Did you check the obvious first--fluid level ok with slides in and jacks up?

Yes, I actually think I may have over filled a bit, as some ended on the ground. That was the first thing I thought about.

If some fluid ended up on the ground, it is possible there air in the system. The way you work air out, is to run slides all the way out and hold for a couple seconds, and run all the in and hold for a couple seconds. You may run the slide all the way out and all the way in several times to work air out.

If the solenoid was clicking off, I would think you hear it or put your hand on and feel going on and off.

As far as solenoids, you can buy them at a local auto parts supply. I would think they are intermittent. Sometimes by taking them in to supply house, there may be a number stamped on them. I do carry spares and the number for the solenoids is Prestolight SAE 4201 GC 12 volt. The main relay is Prestolight SBJ 4201 12 volt.

check the pressure switches on the pump.
ground the 50 lb switch and see if that stops the problem. if that doesnt help, ground the 3000 lb switch. it sounds like one of them is failing.
download a service manual from the hwh website. do the diagnosis. its the only to truly diagnose an problem like yours.
