Hydraulic Reservior

Is this for the radiator stack fan or for the power steering, or both?

From my notes on 2003 with ISL:

Hydraulic system filters (3): Nelson 84220-A OR Wix 57317 Quantity 3.

Hydraulic reservoir top gasket: Cummins # 999-55A.

Thanks Dean. It really IS a "system". The fluid and filters were changed when we bought the coach 3 years ago. I'll have to dig out the books to see how often to change the fluid/filters unless someone has the answer off the top of their head.

If I recall--the WRV "book" says change every 3000 miles--which is totally unrealistic for a "closed" hydraulic system. Over the years, 14yrs and 170k miles to be exact, I have settled on a fluid change schedule of 4 years for fluid and filters. That's about 40-50k miles for us. The Nelson brand filter pack comes in a set of six filters so you get two changes per pack--around $10 ea for filtsers--last time I bought at Cummins. Best solution for me has been to hand-pump or syphon the fluid out of the reservoir from the top, vs removing a hose at the bottom. Getting the lid off top of the tank can be a PITA.
PS--early Alpines used ATF-III, middle-aged Alpines came with regular 15w-40 engine oil but some owner found ISO46 hydraulic fluid to improve brake pedal feel and efficiency. Reservoir volume is about 3 gallons......
