I no longer suck at caulking

This is the best technique I've ever used. The soapy water really makes the difference. Get some on your fingers before running along the bead and you will slide right along. Try it, you'll like it.

Does he actually use silicone? If he does nothing he has to say has any value to me. Silicone is absolutely the worst substance you can use on an RV.

As far as caulking. I hate it but I am pretty good at it. I use a stack of wet paper towels to wipe and wet my finger. Although I have heard ProFlex is a whole nuther animal and sticky. If I use it I will practice first.

I used clear silicone around the kitchen sink. Soapy water and soapy finger did the trick. Looks beautiful now that it's set up.

I tape top and bottom so I get a nice straight line, even with ProFlex. Pro Flex I use a towel with mineral spirits to keep my finger from sticking with good results.

Have you been happy with the proflex on the outside of your rig? Has it stayed stuck? I have never used it before and need to seal around my drivers door. I haven't had an RV for 16 years and back then the selection was limited and not very good. What I wouldn't have given for some Dicor and eternabond tape back then.

ProFlex has stayed put very well, but it also peels off clean. Very flexible. Great around the tops of windows.
I have also used silicone on the belt line seams of the coach. Silicone has held itís bond for 8 plus years. However, it takes a lot of patience and work to remove it.
