It wouldn't hurt when replacing those heavy hoses to put a 90° fitting in lieu of the 90 bend in the hose. Next hose should then be good fur ever. The hard bend in the hose is the cheap way out, puts strain on end fittings and tougher on the hose.

Since I have been mentioned in this post, although not posting, I thought I might chime in.

Every time you add a fitting, you add another restriction on the system. 90° fittings add more.

You don't want to starve the pump for oil, so unless you can go thru the friction loss calculations, I would replace it with the same hose.

Tapping up a hydraulic suction hose is risky too. If the system sucks air, the pump will be trash in short order.
