I would replace the valve extensions with a long stemed valve. But not one that protrudes between the duals. To check your air get a long handled truck guage. Extensions are too risky, as you found out.

We got WRV to send us valve extensions because we noticed the same model Alpine Coach at our dealer came with them. Apparently we were supposed to have them.

Well - John couldn't put them on - seemed like something would have to be bent. He was afraid of damaging the valve stem.

As it turns out, we don't really need them. We monitor our tire pressure through SmartTire and we don't need the extensions to check the air pressure manually with a truck gauge. And it's actually the outside tire that's hard to get to to air it up. No problem reaching the inside tire.

W/4 aluminum wheels & 2 steel, extensions are an unneeded complication IMO. The steel nipple for the inside wheel should protrude neatly in the middle of one aluminum wheel hole (and you should add a rubber grommet centering it, if you don't have one) if the duals are properly rotated.
On my last coach w/dual steel wheels & covers, extensions were an evil necessity, but once they were on properly they worked flawlessly. Seems I either pinched the o-ring & it leaked, or I didn't and it sealed perfectly for life.
Extensions, BTW, may have a tire/wheel balancing req'mt if added to an otherwise balanced wheel.
