Insulating under the slide out

I am preparing my MH for the cold weather coming and noticed that the area under the slide that is exposed when the slide is out has no insulation. The material is quite thin and allows for a lot of heat transfer. Has anyone insulated this area and if so, what did you use and did it help?

Your major heat loss is from the roof and the walls. The least loss is from the floor is the lowest and the least critical.

The floor should be a couple of inches thick and have some Styrofoam insulation. The way most slides operate, there is no room to add anything to the bottom and close the slide. Your best bet may to be to add an additional layer of thick rug on the insode.
