I received a proposal from National Interstate which drops the premium cost about 40% below my present carrier Progressive for the same coverage package. Has any one had experience with National Interstate service?
Thanks

We've had National Interstate for three years now and they have been good. Had one claim which they paid without delay. We're happy with them.

Phil Susann, I have been using National Interstate for 3 years and they have been excellent as well as extremely economical. I had a windshield claim on my Monaco and they were very efficient & timely with no questions asked in reference to payment. They typically beat Good Sam by app. 50%.

Ted:

Question regarding National Interstate:

Do they offer Total Replacement Cost coverage that is reasonable. I have Drive America ( Progressive ) now and paying approximately 1,500.00 per year.

ThanX,

Walt

Indio:

The National Interstate does cover "total replacement cost" as well as covering my Demco tow dolly. In all sincerity we are paying $ 1448.00 per year so if you are in the $ 1500.00 range then you are qute close. I am driving a 2005 but only 34' in relation to your 40' 2004. I would suspect they are very close or you are getting a little bit better deal than I am.

It's always a little scary to just look at annual premiums without knowing liability limits and deductibles. We have 100/300/50 and 100/300 uninsured motorist, $1000 deductibles on collision and comp BUT have optional glass coverage at $90 per year that replaces windshield for small deductible..$200, I think, full replacement cost, content coverage and diminishing deductible...with one chargeable accident the premium is only $1323 for our 2002 40 footer. We have a separate personal umbrella policy that takes liability up to $1,000,000, and if you don't have an umbrella, suggest you go for higher liability limits. A little more money but worth the coverage.

In addition to knowing coverages when making a comparison, it is also very important to know where the vehicle is registered. Coverage in Montana or South Dakota will be less expensive than the same coverage, on the same vehicle for the same people in California.

Sully is absolutely correct. Unless you live side by side with the identical motorhome and the identical coverages it would be difficult to compare. I carry $ 500,000 on liability, $ 50.00 windshield deductible and a lot of additional coverage that is higher than the norm. I think your question was did some of us use National Interstate and were they a reputable company. From my standpoint and Pamelashere's it appears we are quite satisfied.
I hope that helps.
