Insurance Carriers
Seems that insurance companies don't list WRV or Alpine in the list of Class A's. I'm trying to get a quote from Good Sam and not only are we not in the list, but there's not even "other"
Anyone have Insurance through GS?
Also seems that since our coaches are unknown to some carriers it puts us in a higher bracket.
I was originally buying a 1998 Damon and the deal fell through. I already had a quote through progressive, the minute I changed it to a 1998 Alpine my rate doubled without any other changes. Progressive is also one of those that I had to specify "other" and type in the names.
What's up with that? And generally who gives us the best rates.

I have had and still have my Alpine insured through GS with no problem. They have the lowest rate around. Did they also look under Western RV?

I'm not sure what model Damon you were looking at (gas?), But if so, yes it's going to be more to insure the DP.
I'm with Allstate and the price did take a pretty good jump from my gas coach I had.
I don't recall my limits and cost off the top of my head, but I can look it up if you need.

Randy,
I Have used Miller Insurance Agency in Lake Oswego, Oregon. to insure 4 different motorhomes over the years.
I used them originally because they would provide an "Agreed Value" policy for a restored 1976 GMC Motorhome. An important feature in case of a totaled motorhome or classic collector car that is not listed in any value guide.

Damon was a DP, 38ft Intruder. So pretty much an apples to apples in terms of basics, size, engine etc.
As for GS, I didn't call them, I was just using their online quote tool. My understanding is GS uses Progressive as the underwriter.
Thanks
Randy

We have Progressive for our 2002 Alpine. Not a problem insuring with them.

Randy, GS uses Nationwide as the underwriter.

As much as Geico taught me to detest them, their rate, added to my car policy was better than GS's quote.
