Hi- I got sloppy and didn't secure the bottom sliding lock tightly on the sliding door between the bedroom and bathroom. When driving and making a left turn the door slammed closed hard and broke one of the clips on the top of it. I found a couple of broken white plastic pieces on the floor. I have examined the fasteners on the top and can't figure how one would replace them. The white plastic part seems to wrap around a metal part that is suspended from a track above. Any ideas on how to replace? Can I just order the part from WRV?

Thanks

Hello Rick:

Sorry to hear something broke. I have not had anything on the sliding doors break when I have forgotten to lock the doors. I have checked mine and several new Alpines here at Nashville, and I can not figure out how to fix it. I would have to look at the new part to see if I could figure it out.

I will continue to try and get an answer for you.

Rick:
It is an easy fix. Get a few of the plastics from WRV and look at the other side door for reference.

Hi Rick,

We had a sliding door in our 2004 that would not stay latched...not because anything was broken, but because the bottom lock wouldn't stay locked. Anyway, WRV fixed it recently by putting a gizmo on the back wall that latches the door shut much better than the old method. Apparently it is what is now used to secure the sliding doors, and it is similar to what is used to latch some of the drawers in the coach. You can probably get one or more of those from WRV.

Good luck!
