OK, this is gonna sound funny, but exactly what is the proper way to set the timing of the intermittent wipers? I have owned the Alpine for many years and just mess around with it to get it to change the timing between wipes. Living in California means I don't use it much. I will hold the button down on the smart wheel for an extended time, release, hit it again and sometimes it will run with X seconds of delay and sometimes Y and sometimes it won't do more than one wipe? I don't have an owners manual for the smart wheel and don't believe it is on the web site for the other manuals.

I *think* it works as follows:
- Press and release the button once
- Wait the desired amount of time for the delay
- Press and release the button again
This should set the delay wiper.

GT has it exactly right. Push the button, wait the time you wish for the wiper to wipe and push the button again. Can't get much easier.

Hey... I finally answered a question instead of incessantly asking them!

Rich and Cork,
Thanks for asking that question. I have been screwing around with the intermitten wipers for two years thinking I had one that was not working properly. I am looking forward to see it it actually works!!

The manual is available at
vipwheels.com/PDF%20Files/ownersmanual.pdf
I recently called their tech support people and was impressed.

One other minor point, after pushing the button the first time it must be pushed again within about 30 sec to establish the delay/repeat function. In other words, the maximum delay is about 30 seconds. It actually works fairly well on our coach. Doug

I'm sitting here in histerics. I have been playing with my wipers for years debating whether or not to tear into it because the intermittent function didn't work...it had a mind of its own. I can't wait to give it a try. Thanks for having the good sense to ask the question!!!!!!! And thanks for a great answer.

The other thing that happens is with one wipe of the wipers however you do it ( Hi, Lo, or Intermittent) the head lights come on and stay on until you turn off the key switch. This is how I got daytime running lights on my 2002.

This system is not one of the most intuitive setups I have run across. I scratched my head for a while then tracked down the manual. I think daddy Louie actually clued me in first.
