Inverter not coming online

I changed out the negative battery terminal on my 40 MDTS today and now the xantrax 2.0 prosine inverter won't come on line. Prior to replacing I switched both battery switches off as well as disconnecting shore power. This was the negative Post where the three ground cables come together. nothing else was done. Is there any other reset besides on the inverter gave or the remote panel?

Between your inverter and the +battery terminal, there should be a fuse or circuit breaker that may have shut off your power. Sometimes they hide them outside the battery compartment on a frame member. Should be close to the +terminal on the battery, though.

Maybe there are 4 ground cables. Did you look for the inverter negetive cable that may have been left off ?

Key to whether the problem is cabling or the inverter, is if it tries to come online, but drops off, as mine did?

There is a load sensing option within the control panel menu. I had to disable it (per Xantrex) when my inverter would not stay on for more than a couple of seconds after a total, extended power loss. The microwave display is insufficient draw to satisfy that function. The control panel, as you likely know, al lows On/Off control of the inverter. Check it is set to On and didn't revert of Off with the power loss.

Alternatively to the menu load check item, I guess, you could plug something into an inverter powered outlet, adding more current draw for the inverter's startup check.

My coach's inverter fuse is large and on the inside wall of the battery compartment. I'm fairly sure it's not in the battery isolation switch circuit (solar charging). The big spark from reconnecting the cables is normal and did not 'toast' the fuse.

Multiple resets (the button on the Xantrex) had not solved the issue for me, nor did the factory-specified cold reset.

Nothing but a negative battery cable end swap. I turned off both large battery switches and disconnected the shore power as well. I replaced it and turned everything back on and no inverter.

Did you end up replacing the inverter?
