In researching data to replace my right rear jack I found the rear jacks on my '99 are rated at 9k. The rear axle is rated at 19k. Presently, I have about 16,600# on the rear axle. Does the 9k jack sound adequate for the job? I read somewhere that there was a higher capacity jack for our coaches and some of you have upgraded. Since I am replacing 1 of the rear jacks I could just as well replace both. Will this open a can of worms with pump capacity, hoses, etc.?

Gary,

My '99 at last weigh-in was at 16,660. I have always found the rear jacks to be adequate but not the front. I stopped by HWH last September and had the front jacks changed to the 9k ones and have been very satisfied. Seems like it cost me @ $700.

On our 2000 40fds the fronts were so inadequate that about half the time the jacks would not lift the front of the coach. After much discussion with the old WRV engineer Gary Jones who said the current jacks were adequate, I contacted HWH who said they agreed with me and not Jones. HWH finally got Jones to ship me a whole new mounting frame and larger jacks, NC. I paid to install them. So WRV did make mistakes with their earlier installations
