I meet up with dgerstel 'Dale' lately and showed what I had been up too! He wanted me to share with the Alpine group, so with Dale's help, there should be photo's.
I wanted to make some changes to my Alpine. Since my previous Alpine had a Vagabond Water system, I needed another one. Other goodies included a Glendinning Power Hose Reel, Intellitec water pump control, See Level II gauges, Trimetric battery monitor system. A new control panel would need to be built. I also moved the Glendinning Shore Power Reel to a better location IMO.
I wanted the water hose reel in the Service Bay. Since my bottom pan was cracked, I decided to build a whole new service bay out of Stainless Steel. I'll start off with a before photo.
This next photo is of the bay stripped to the factory service bay.
The new Service Bay includes Power Hose Reel with Switch, Vagabond RO water system (2 RO's), with switches, led, TDS meter, flow gauges, pressure gauges (in) & (out), hose bib, push button switch with led to turn water pump on/off (service bay plus 3 more inside). Plus original hose hook up and flush hook up. Also removable center panel with Dzus (quarter turn) fastners.
There were times I thought I had bit off more than I could chew. Working with stainless steel gives you a whole new appreciation for working with metal. Now that it's done, I can enjoy it!
Added: Maybe this will fix the thumb nail photos. Many of you have wondered whats behind the service bay.
