I just bought a 17" LCD for the bedroom in our Alpine. I though I could fit a 4-3 format 20" TV but after measurements were taken I decided to use an 16-9 LCD flat-panel.
I bought a 17" ProView Tv at Costco for $299, can you beat that? I'll take before and after pictures this time.

The living area flooring will be the next upgrade; I'm thinking "Cork", warm, resilient, unique look and costs about $3-4 per sq ft. Anyone tried Cork?

I agree on the warmth, but the show-the-traffic-pattern factor might be higher than you like. The bamboo stuff I've seen recently is way-outa-sight pretty, and bamboo is harder than maple (resists scratches, dents) which is harder than oak. Just a thought.

You will have to be the judge. You can install a 16-9 TV in any Alpine, it just comes down to how much you want to spend. I could not justify throwing out my old cabinets to install a TV. Davis cabinet in Junction City does a beautiful job, $5000 + TV. WRV will sell you a new coach with a large TV, $100,000 to $200,000 + your coach.

Hi Danny,
I have a question about your previous upgrade to your front TV. Did you remove the entire cabinets or just the face frame to modify the cabinets to accept the new TV? Also did you have your stain special mixed to match existing cabinets?

Jim,
If your going to Aquanga - ACA Rally or want to come over to Orange you can check out the 32" we put into our 2000 - 38". We (Franz & I)removed the entire front and built new cabinets. Also replaced the side material with wood.

I finished my bedroom TV upgrade. I'll be in Aguanga if anyone wants to see it up close.

Danny, absolutely a terrific job. Workmanship is outstanding and I would have never thought to trust Home Depot to match the stain, but the whole job looks tremendous.
Congratulations on an excellent piece of workmanship. You must be mighty proud of both of those TV's you retrofitted. On the other hand it isn't fair that you didn't tell us you gave Norm Abrahms Carpentry lessons!

Danny, with that bedroom upgrade and the flat panal TV, did you pick up a little extra storage space behind? If so, how did you access it.

LUNDY, YOU JUST TAKE A HOLE SAW AND CUT A 3-4" HOLE RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SCREEN, USE THE WIRES WITHIN AS TIEDOWNS. SAVE THE PIECE YOU CUT OUT SO YOU CAN WATCH TV AGAIN.
