I just had mine replaced and it took the shop 12+ hours to replace. Fortunately my extended warranty covered the cost. The warranty company made me replace the radiator with an OEM from Radiator Specialties in Sacramento. I would much rather have had one built to my specs but the OEM is at least supposed to be better than the original. Make sure you get the rubber mounts for the bottom support as the lack of same supposedly contributed to the leaking problem. Total bill was $5k+.

Burk is the guy to call about radiator replacements. He has access to some of the ones WRV got as a settlement from the original manufacturer.

Does anyone have a contact number or email for Burke? The last one in the posts (509 457-4133) has been disconnected. Thanks.

Has anyone had it done in SoCal? I would rather go to a shop that has done it before than pay for training them.

Not sure this is within his contract scope but may be our ACA Technical helper, Mark can run interference with Burk on this effort? Assuming you are a member of ACA......

Mac's radiator was kind enough to send me their working drawings of the Alpine radiator. If you have these available you can have radiator shops in your area give you an estimate to build one with your choice of materials. This is what I was going to do until I was required to find the OEM. You can get one built for substantially under $2k.

Jerry,
Can you forward the radiator drawings to Emike so they can be posted on the ACA tech site?

1) Got it. Thanks Jerry. This'll appear in the ACA Library soon.
2) Nice detail. Good work- Mac's Radiator of Portland, OR!!
3) IIWM, I'd have all 4 brackets made w/gussets, on the drawing you'll see two per Detail A w/gussets, and two per Detail B resembling a short piece of angle iron and set @ 20. Also I'd get the big rubber grommets heralded elsewhere on this thread, and have bracket B drilled accordingly (drawing shows it drilled 9/16" to receive a 1/2" rod; I think the grommets take a larger hole & isolate the rod from the bracket metal to reduce vibration issues).
4) IIWM looking for a replacement radiator, I'd check the old one against this drawing and if OK then order the new one from MAC'S RADIATOR, 6147 S.E. FOSTER RD., PORTLAND OR, 97206, 1.800.452.0579, DIRECT 503.416.6781, FAX 503.777.3570 (w/mods per #3 above), assuming competitive price holds, and have it shipped. Subsequent units might be cheaper than the first one since they have the design figured out.
