I would like to get in touch with a member " takepride" with a 2003 FDTS from Long Beach. He had a post about 1 1/2 years ago or so, about tail lights. At the time he was looking into a replacement with a more up to date look in LED. I am interested in what he found.

He is on here all the time. Do a search of the Alpine forum and send him a PM.

You mean these?
I purchased the tail lights from www.StreetPros.com. They were $225.95 plus CA tax, total $246.23 with free shipping. They require using a "run, turn, brake controller to convert the three signals to a share of the same LEDs. The adapters are apparently available most anywhere. They are part # LEDT-502CR from IPCW. I noticed the price is about $300 now. Just do a search for competing vendors (eBay, amazon, etc.).
They look killer!

Do you know if they will also fit on a 1999?

Charles:
Not positive, but the tail light replacement was for Ford Econolines from well before your coach was made. I have also seen it on SOBs. If yours looks similar to other years, I'd guess, yes. The headlights for the first few years were different, though.
