Looks Like We're In!

Pending a final walk-through on Friday afternoon, it looks like we'll be the proud owners of a new to us Alpine Coach. It's a 2003 40MDTS (400HP). They're putting on a set of new Toyo M154s (H rated) and new batteries. There are some small items for the dealer to fix, but it looks like a go.

I'm stoked. The handling and power are beyond belief for me, coming from a gas coach.

Can anyone tell me what the wheel cut angle of a 2003 Peak chassis is?

Congrats on a fun new level of adventure.
Wheel cut is 50 degrees if you have the later model drag link which has ~15 degree kink in it. If you do you need to do a search on the trucker's bungee solution for off-center center of gravity of the link. Costs maybe $5, takes maybe 5 minutes, and helps preserve your drag link ball joints.
The previous design had a smaller diameter drag link (connects the pitman arm on steering gear (crawl under drivers side ahead of front wheel & you'll see all) to the king pin pivot arm at LF wheel. Can't tell you the wheel cut on that drag link, but its less.

Thanks guys. EMike, I looked at the rod end on the drag link, but will have to look closer to see which link it is. I'm hoping for 50 degree with the 278" wheelbase.

Welcome to the best orphan support group on iRV2. Many of the members know these coaches as if they designed them.

Don't forget to join the ACA and regional Alpine groups.

Enjoy the ride!

Travel safe,

We live out in our old van. Travel all across this land. Drive until the city lights dissolve into a country sky, me and you - hand in hand.

Thanks so much. We moved to our new coach yesterday - I'm whipped! This week I'll work on getting the basement storage organized, then we'll head out to Quartzsite.

Love the support for Alpine Coach on this forum.
